Samsung overnight revealed the Galaxy A80, a midrange device that's possibly the company's wildest smartphone to date. The new handset eschews notches and camera cut-outs for an almost edge-to-edge display with only the slightest hint of a chin.
In order to achieve this, Samsung is using a rotating camera design. The A80's three rear-facing cameras will slide up and rotate to the front of the device whenever you want to take a selfie. It's a little mesmerising. The camera configuration is made up of a 48MP primary lens, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a Time of Flight sensor for measuring depth.

Other key specifications for the Galaxy A80 include a 6.7-inch 1080p+ display, a Snapdragon 730 processor, 128GB of non-expandable storage, 8GB of RAM, an in-screen fingerprint reader, and a 3,700mAh battery. It will ship running Android Pie, customised with Samsung's One UI.
Samsung has yet to confirm pricing and availability for the Galaxy A80, but we're expecting it to be cheaper than the Galaxy S10. It's not yet clear whether the Galaxy A80 will be available in Australia, but we've got our finger crossed. More weird smartphones please.
