5G handsets continue to get cheaper with Samsung today announcing local pricing and availability for the Galaxy A22 5G, a $349 phone touting next-generation connectivity. The Galaxy A22 5G narrowly undercuts the Vivo Y52 5G, which retails for $379 (although was available for $349 briefly as a launch promo) and the OPPO A54 5G which sells for $399.
The hardware is mostly in line with what you'd expect from a budget phone, with the Galaxy A22 5G featuring a 6.6-inch 1080p+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor, 128GB of expandable storage, 4GB of RAM, and a 5,000mAh. On the back, you'll find a 48MP primary camera, 5MP ultra-wide, and 2MP depth camera.
The Galaxy A22 5G is available now, and you'll be able to grab it in a choice of grey or mint. If you'd prefer to get it on a plan, you'll find it at both Optus and Vodafone.
Alternatively, Telstra is selling the Galaxy A22 5G as a prepaid phone where you'll pay a lower price of $329. It's worth noting that the only Telstra prepaid plan with 5G is its $60 recharge.
