Hot off the heels of the Galaxy S10, Samsung is bringing a whole fleet of somewhat more affordable smartphones to Australia, with prices for its latest A-series handsets starting at $279. While features vary significantly across Samsung's four new smartphones, they share a few common traits:
- Large displays with tear-drop notches meeting or exceeding 6.4-inches
- Batteries with a capacity of at least 4,000mAh
- A minimum of two rear-facing cameras
The Galaxy A50, Galaxy A30, and Galaxy A20 are all available now, while the Galaxy A70 will hit shelves in June. Here's a closer look at the four new phones.
Samsung Galaxy A70

The Galaxy A70 is the big boy of Samsung's new range, featuring the largest display and battery out of the bunch. It also has the most storage, the best specs, and unsurprisingly, the highest price tag.
Key specifications for the Galaxy A70 include a 6.7-inch 1080p+ display, a Snapdragon 675 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, a 32MP + 5MP + 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 4,500mAh battery.
The Galaxy A70 will retail for $649, and be available from Samsung and other selected retailers in June.
Samsung Galaxy A50

The Galaxy A50 is a little more modest than the A70 in terms of both hardware and size, but still has three rear-facing cameras.
Key specifications for the Galaxy A50 include a 6.4-inch 1080p+ display, an Exynos 9610 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 25MP + 5MP + 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 4,000mAh battery.
The Galaxy A50 is exclusively available through Optus (but valued at $499 outright). Here are the plans you can get it on:
Samsung Galaxy A30

The Galaxy A30 is another step down in cost and hardware, losing the third camera lens found on its pricier siblings.
Key specifications for the Galaxy A30 include a 6.4-inch 1080p+ display, an Exynos 7885 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a 16MP + 5MP rear-facing camera, and a 4,000mAh battery.
The Galaxy A30 retails for $379, and is available direct from Samsung and selected retailers (including JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman) right now.
Samsung Galaxy A20

The Galaxy A20 is the cheapest phone in Samsung's new range, but it still has the same large display you'll find in the Galaxy A30 (albeit at a lower resolution) and an equally high capacity battery.
Key specifications for the Galaxy A20 include a 6.4-inch 720p+ display, an Exynos 7884 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a 13MP + 5MP rear-facing camera, and a 4,000mAh battery.
The Galaxy A20 retails for $279, and is available direct from Samsung and selected retailers (including JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman) right now.
