Optus iPhone preorder deal

Optus will give you up to $400 credit if you trade in an old iPhone when you pre-order from the new iPhone 13 family, provided you order before September 30.

Through the Optus Trade In program you can trade your old phone for a substantial credit to your Optus account. This credit can then be used to go towards your bill, ostensibly paying for up to four months of coverage with the provider.

iPhone 11 and 12 series devices can be traded in for $400 credit, while iPhone X, XS, XR, SE, 7, and 8 will get you $300, provided that these handsets are in “good working order”.

What exactly constitutes “good working order” is determined by the trade-in partner company Alegre. When going through the process Optus asks three questions;

  1. Does your device turn on?
  2. Is your device fully functional and does the touchscreen display work?
  3. Does your device have any physical damage such as cracks, chips, or missing buttons?

Depending on the answers to these, you’ll be able to see a live quote for how much your iPhone is worth for trade in. Values can range from $0 (if the phone isn’t functioning) to $400.

Some older iPhone models are also available to trade in, but how much you get in exchange drops drastically. For example, if you have an iPhone 6 in good condition you can trade it in for $35.

Additionally, the provider has brought back its 500GB mobile data plan for just $65 per month when you pre-order from the iPhone 13 range.
