For Black Friday Optus is taking $150 off the already affordable Pixel 6, making it just $850 for a fully fledged flagship phone.
Even paying the $999 RRP for the Pixel 6 seems like a scam, so we entirely understand your skepticism but we loved Google’s latest handsets when we reviewed them. The camera even beats out the iPhone 13 in some instances. Long story short, you are getting a whole lot of phone for $999, and hey for $850 it’s even more of a steal.
Optus has split up the $150 discount over the course of your phone plan. So if you’re opting for a 12-month plan you’ll get $12.50 off each month, 24-months take off $6.25 per month, and 36-month plans get you a $4.16 discount each month. Whichever direction you take to get there is up to you, but you’ll still just pay $850 for the Pixel 6.
The Pixel 6 can be paired with any Optus Choice Plus plan, but right now the provider is offering a Plus Promo Plan with a huge amount of data. For $65 per month you’ll get 500GB of data per month, which is 300GB more than you’ll get on the $65 Large Optus Choice Plan that has the same monthly cost.
You probably think that 500GB is too much data for one person to go through, and frankly, we agree. However you can share that data with other eligible Optus Choice Plus plans on the same account.
The promotional pricing for this deal is valid for 12 months, after which your plan will revert back to $115 per month for the full 500GB. However all Optus plans are contract-free so you can always step down a few tiers, or leave the provider entirely once the promo period is over. You’ll just need to pay out anything left on your phone repayments.
