OPPO has announced local pricing and availability for the Reno 8 Lite 5G, and its most distinctive feature is easily the Rainbow Spectrum finish you can get it In. While it has a green undertone, the back incorporates a whole spectrum of psychedelic pastel hues, making it one of the more unique phone finishes we've seen lately.
The Reno 8 Lite 5G also comes in black, I guess.
Pretty finish aside, the Reno 8 Lite 5G seems like a solid $599 phone. Key specifications include a 6.4-inch 1080p+ display, a Snapdragon 695 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, and a 4,500mAh battery. On the back, you'll find a 64MP primary lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor.
The Reno 8 Lite also has a few more durability claims than many phones at its price point. It's rated IPX4 for splash resistance, and OPPO also says the device has passed both drop and micro-drop testing in its internal laboratory. It didn't provide any further specifics around the kind of height the phone can survive drops from, however.
For the money, the main omission we'd expect to see is a high refresh rate display, which even many of OPPO's cheaper phones now feature. Even the $349 OPPO A76.
The OPPO Reno 8 Lite is available from today, and you'll find it at JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Harvey Norman, Big W, Woolworths, Bing Lee, and Australia Post.
