OPPO has announced Australian pricing and availability for its new Reno 12 series phones, and there are some pretty generous offers for anyone who buys either within the first month of availability.
If you pick up the standard Reno 12 before July 25 you'll get a free OPPO Pad Neo valued at $449. Opting for the Reno 12 Pro (pictured above) gets you a free OPPO Watch X instead, valued at $699. Given the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro cost $799 and $999 respectively, the bonus items can offset the cost of each device, assuming you're after a new tablet or smartwatch.
While there are a few differences between the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro, both ship with new AI features. The tools on offer aren't dissimilar from what we've seen in the Pixel 8 family or the Galaxy S24 range, with features like recording transcription, web page summaries, and text generation all on board. There are also a few photo tools including an object eraser and face swap effect.
In terms of specs, the Reno 12 Pro has a 6.7-inch 1080p+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and curved edges on all four sides, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, 12GB of RAM, IP65 water resistance, 512GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. There's a 50MP primary lens, 50MP 2x zoom lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 50MP selfie camera on board.
The standard Reno 12 also has a 6.7-inch 1080p+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, but doesn't have the curved edges. It has the same Dimensity 7300 processor, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, IP65 water resistance, and 5,000mAh battery. Cameras are a little more modest with a 50MP primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro lens, and 32MP selfie camera.
The phones will be available to pre-order from June 27 ahead of a July 11 release date. You'll be able to pick them up from JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Harvey Norman, and the OPPO website. The phones won't be available on a mobile plan.
The Reno 12 will come in "astro silver" and "black brown", while the Reno 12 Pro is available in a choice of "nebula silver" and "nebula black".
