OPPO's latest mid-tier phone - the Reno 11 F 5G - is available from today in Australia, retailing at $599. Anyone who picks up the phone before April 24 can redeem a bonus item, with an air fryer, earbuds, or a security camera all on offer.
The air fryer in question is a Cosori CP158 with a 5.5L capacity. It retails for $219. The wireless earbuds are OPPO's own Enco X, valued at $299. And lastly, the camera is an Aqara G3 that sells for $195. Bonus items have to be redeemed by May 8.
Looking at the handset itself, the Reno 11 F 5G is a fairly typical mid-tier phone. It does however benefit from an IP65 water resistance rating.
Very few OPPO phones have historically never had formal water resistance ratings, except for flagship devices such as the Find X3 Pro and Find X5 Pro. Some of OPPO's cheaper devices such as the recently released A79 have an IP rating for splash resistance, but the Reno 11 F 5G is the first mid-tier phone to take that further.
A rating of IP65 means the Reno 11 F 5G is dust-tight and is protected from water jets from any direction. You can't submerge the phone, but OPPO says it's durable enough to survive a downpour. Splash-resistant devices are only rated for light rain and sweat, for comparison.
IP ratings are still far from standard on mid-tier devices, but Samsung's Galaxy A series has made them more prevalent. The $549 Galaxy A35 is currently Samsung's cheapest phone with water resistance, coming with an IP67 rating.
Other key specifications for the OPPO Reno 11 F 5G include a 6.7-inch 1080p+ display with a 120hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, 256GB of expandable storage, 8GB of RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery. In terms of rear cameras, there's a 64MP primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro lens. On the front, there's a 32MP selfie camera.
The OPPO Reno 11 F 5G is available in green or blue, through JB Hi-FI, Officeworks, Bing Lee, and OPPO's own online store.
