Durability rarely gets a shoutout when it comes to more affordable phones, but OPPO's changing that with the newly released A80.
While not a rugged device, the OPPO A80 features a "360-degree damage-proof armour body for impact resistance". This includes a new reinforced internal structure and the use of drop-resistant materials like Panda Glass. As such, OPPO says the phone can withstand "most everyday drops and impacts". In addition, the A80 is rated IP54 for dust and splash resistance.
OPPO is also selling an optional "anti-drop shield case" for the A80 for $24.95, which is said to double the protection offered.
Key specifications for the OPPO A80 include a 6.67-inch 720p+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Dimensity 6300 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of expandable storage, and a 5,100mAh battery. When it comes to photography, there's a 50MP primary lens and 2MP depth lens on the back, and an 8MP selfie camera on the front.
The OPPO A80 is available now and retails for $369. You can get it a choice of black or purple from retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, and Harvey Norman.
