Nothing's sub-brand CMF has just announced a new mid-range device, the Phone 2 Pro, and it's launching in Australia.
The successor to CMF's Phone 1, the new device comes with a 6.77-inch 1080p display, MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor, IP54 splash resistance and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery.
CMF says it's 10% faster than the Phone 1 and the battery life should last an hour longer than it did on its predecessor. One big change is that it also now supports NFC so you can use contactless payment options such as Google Pay. Although there's still no eSIM.
When it comes to cameras, it features a three-camera system with a 50MP primary lens, 50MP telephoto lens and a 8MP ultrawide lens. On the front, you'll find a 16MP selfie camera.
CMF retains its focus on design innovation and modularity with three new accessories, including the Universal Cover phone case which allows you to attach interchangeable lenses (including fisheye and macro) and a new wallet which doubles as a stand.
You'll get three years of OS updates and six years of security updates on the Phone 2 Pro - this is in line with Nothing's own Phone 3a series it released in Australia back in March. Six years of security updates is the same as what Samsung and Motorola's commit to with their mid-tier devices like the Galaxy A-series and the Moto G75.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro comes in four colourways: White, Orange, Black, and Light Green. The latter two have a glass-like back that resembles a frosted glass texture and has a metallic frame.
The Phone 2 Pro starts at $449 for the 128GB storage variant or you can pay $509 for the 256GB storage variant.
Alongside the Phone 2 Pro announcement, CMF unveiled three new sets of earbuds. The CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2 Plus and the CMF Buds 2a.
The Buds 2 offer everyday sound with 48dB hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and spatial audio, while the Buds 2 Plus are for power users, featuring Hi-Res LDAC and full EQ customisation.
The Buds 2a function as an entry-level option also featuring ANC at 42dB. The new CMF earbuds are priced at $89 (Buds 2), $109 (Buds 2 Plus) and $79 (Buds 2a).
You can already pre-order the entire range from Nothing's Australian retail partner JB Hi-Fi, with the units being available in stores from May 6.
