LG has unveiled its first 5G smartphone - the V50 ThinQ (henceforth, V50) - and it's a little bit wild. Not so much because it has 5G connectivity, but because there's an optional secondary screen accessory.
If a single 6.4-inch display isn't quite enough for you, you can clip a secondary 6.2-inch display onto the V50 with a case-like accessory. Most of the time, this simply lets you run a different application on each screen, but it can also be used as a controller for some games. The Dual Screen accessory is however powered by the V50's internal battery, which could add some serious battery drain.

Other than 5G, the optional display, and a few other small changes, the V50 is very similar to last year's V40. That means you get the same three rear-facing camera setup includinge a standard 12MP lens, a 16MP wide-angle lens, and a 12MP zoom lens.
Key specifications for the LG V50 include a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ display, a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, IP68 water-resistance, Quad DAC audio with a headphone jack, and a 4,000mAh battery.
Local pricing and availability for the LG V50 ThinQ and the Dual Screen accessory have yet to be confirmed, but we know the phone will be coming to Telstra in the first half of this year.
