Nope. You didn't misread the headline. One of Australia's newest telcos, Circles.Life, is currently offering a 100GB mobile plan for just $28 per month.
100GB. For $28.
Wow.
If that seems too good to be true, you'll be pleased to know there are two catches. You have to be a new customer, and you only get a 100GB allowance for your first 12 months. After that, the plan will return to Circles' standard pricing of $28 for 20GB. The plan is no-contract however, so you can leave any time either before or after promo pricing ends.
If you're after a similarly large allowance, the next closest option comes from Vodafone, where $65 per month gets you 120GB on a 12-month contract.
To get this deal, you'll need to sign up with Circles.Life by November 14 using the promo code 100GBFOR28 and activate your SIM card by December 31.
If you don't need quite as much data, Circles also has a slightly cheaper deal that gets you 20GB for $18 per month. Once again, the discount is only valid for your first 12 months.
This offer runs until November 30. To get it, you'll need to use the promo code 10FOR12.
Both plans also include 3GB of "bill shock protection data", which kicks in after you burn through your allowance. If you manage to use this data too, you'll get billed at $0.01 per MB unless you purchase an add-on. These start at 3GB for $6, which is pretty good when you consider the standard rate is $10 per GB.
Be aware that Circles.Life starts all customer billing periods on the 1st of the month, which means that, if you signed up today, you'd pay approximately $18 for somewhere around 66GB, which will last you until the end of the month. Then on December 1 you'll be billed the full $28 for the full 100GB.
Circles is powered by the Optus network.
