BlackBerry's latest smartphone isn't really that black. In fact, it's quite red. The BlackBerry KEY2 Red Edition is an ever-so-slightly more colourful refresh of last year's KEY2. It only comes in one storage size - 128GB - and has a rather fetching red aluminium frame. And red things always go faster, right?
New colourway aside, the KEY2 Red Edition is pretty much the same phone - there's just no 64GB storage option this time. It still has a physical keyboard with cool software tricks, it still has a 4.5-inch touchscreen above with a slightly odd 3:2 aspect ratio, and it still runs BlackBerry's take on Android.
It's very clearly a device made for BlackBerry fans. Especially BlackBerry fans who like red.
Key specifications for the BlackBerry KEY2 Red Edition include a 4.5-inch 1620x1080 display, a Snapdragon 660 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, dual 12MP rear-facing cameras, and a 3,500mAh battery. And it still has a headphone jack!
Australian pricing and availability for the BlackBerry KEY2 Red Edition has yet to be confirmed. The standard KEY2 never made it to local stores, so fingers crossed the Red Edition does.
