Belong mobile have dropped add-on fees for talk and text on all mobile plans. This makes the telco's SIM-only mobile plans as cheap as you can get on the Telstra network, with the added trust factor of being Telstra-owned.
Whereas previously Belong charged $5 to add unlimited national talk and text to all mobile plans, this fee has been dropped and unlimited talk and text is now included in all plans at no additional cost. Belong has also added a small 1GB plan to its repertoire, for users with more basic usage needs.
Here's how Belong mobile plans now stack up against other SIM-only plans on the Telstra network:
Telstra network plans with 5GB of data
Telstra network plans with 15GB of data
Telstra network plans with 1GB of data
Belong is Telstra's low-cost mobile offering – you get (most of) Telstra's network without paying the premium fee Australians have come to expect from Telstra. While you don't get access to the high-speed 4GX network, Belong covers a massive 99.8% of Australia's population – and the prices are competitive across all networks.
All Belong mobile plans also include data rollover, which the telco refers to as 'data banking'. This is a handy money saver if your data usage varies month to month, and something we're starting to see appear in more mobile plans. All Belong mobile plans are also no contract which is great if you like to surf from deal to deal, want to try without committing or just don't like to be tied down.
Belong unlimited international calls also now cheaper
Belong's price cut on plans has also brought down the cost of access to its unlimited international calls offer (to 10 selected countries). While previously access to this call pack was an additional $10 on top of any plan, it's now only $5 on top of the 1GB and 5GB plans and is included free with the 15GB plan.
Belong's unlimited international talk and text pack can be used to contact standard numbers in China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, UK and USA. That's as cheap as you can get for unlimited calls and 15GB on the Telstra network:
