I can't stop stroking Belkin's new cables. Feel isn't typically what you're looking for when it comes to a cable that exists to charge your smartphone, but Belkin's newly refreshed DuraTek Plus range sure feel fancy. Touted as Belkin's strongest cables yet, the range are coated in double braided nylon. It's there to resist damage, but it's also just really nice to touch.
There's more to the DuraTek Plus range than a swish outer jacket. The cables are all reinforced with Aramid, which is traditionally used to strengthen surfboards and tennis racquets. Belkin says its ability to flex without stretching helps protect the wires inside each cable. Belkin also says the point where the cable joins the connector is longer and more flexible than what you'd find on other cables.
Lastly, the DuraTek Plus range have an integrated leather strap to help keep them tidy when not in use. And for extra fanciness points, presumably.
DuraTeK plus cables are available in Lighting-to-USB-A, Lighting-to-USB-C, and USB-C-to-USB-A connectors, and in a choice of 1.2m, 1.8m, and 3m lengths. Prices start at $39.95. You can check out Belkin's DuraTek Plus range on Amazon, if you'd like to stroke one too.
