Apple is offering bonus trade-in credit for your old iPhone until June 3

Getting an iPhone valued at the Apple Store

In the lead-up to the end of the financial year, Apple will give customers who trade in an eligible iPhone up to $120 in bonus credit when they upgrade to any iPhone 15 model.

Devices as old as the iPhone 7 Plus are eligible for trade-in and bonus credit. Older devices (including the standard iPhone 7) won't get any customers any credit, even with the bonus offer. Apple can still recycle these devices for you if you bring them into a store.

As part of the offer, trading in an iPhone 7 Plus would score you a $120 credit, depending on the capacity and condition. A 512GB iPhone 13 could get you a $540 trade-in credit, for example, while a 512GB iPhone 11 Pro Max could net you $460. In both cases, Apple is offering more trade-in credit than Optus and Vodafone, for example.

This trade-in offer is available both at retail Apple stores and through the Apple website. If you want to trade in in-store, your iPhone will be assessed then and there. If you're happy to set up your iPhone 15 and part with your old one immediately, you'll get the trade-in credit instantly removed from the retail price. Alternatively, you can send in your old device within 14 days of purchase, after which you'll get a refund for its value.

If you buy online, you'll get an estimated valuation. You'll then need to send your old iPhone back within 14 days of receiving your new one to have its value refunded.

In both cases, Apple can offer the credit as a gift card as an alternative.

Apple's trade-in promo runs until June 3.
