Apple has confirmed it will hold its next product unveiling on September 8 (3am AEST), where it is expected to showcase the iPhone 14 family, assuming that is the real name.
Once again, four new iPhones are on the cards: the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. These will be joined by the iPhone 14 Max, a larger version of the standard iPhone 14 that will replace the iPhone mini in the range.
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to have the more significant changes this time around. Apple is expected to ditch the notch for a camera-cut selfie camera paired with a pill shape for Face ID tech. A higher resolution 48MP primary camera is on the cards for them, as well as a new processor. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are expected to feature more RAM, but keep last year's A15 processor and the notched display.
Given the September 8 reveal, we'd expect pre-orders to kick off on September 9 ahead of a September 23 release date. Pre-orders should start late in the evening, but we won't get exact timing until the phones are announced.
Three new Apple Watch models are expected too: a new mainline Apple Watch, a refreshed budget Apple Watch SE, and an all-new Apple Watch Pro that's meant to be larger and more durable. AirPods Pro 2 are also rumoured for the event.
