In the age of $2000+ smartphones cheaper options come as a welcome change, Alcatel's newest addition- the 1SE - will set you back just $199. That is around 10% of the price of an iPhone 12 Pro Max (256GB) or 20% of the cheapest iPhone 12 mini.
Alcatel is known for creating good quality, affordable handsets in the Australian and international markets such as the Alcatel 3L, 1V and 1B.
"Affordable smartphones play an essential role in the industry, offering accessibility to technology to those who can’t or don’t want to fork out the exorbitant cost of a new flagship smartphone," said local Alcatel VP Sam Skontos.
"We take pride in being able to really drive inclusions and offer consumers features that were in much more expensive devices just a few short years ago."
The Alcatel 1SE comes equipped with a tri-camera setup, 6.22-inch display, and 4,000mAh battery capacity. You'll also find 64GB of expandable storage and 4GB of RAM, which is pretty great for the price.
The camera set up houses three lenses, a 13MP primary lens, 5MP super wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth lens along with a 5MP selfie camera on the front. Fitted with portrait mode and AI scene detection the camera automatically optimises to 12 different settings to get the most out of your shot. Earlier this year we were impressed with what the Alcatel 3L’s camera could do with a similar set of lenses.
4,000mAh battery capacity typically lasts a couple of days on Alcatel’s range of affordable handsets so it is likely that we will see something similar with the 1SE.
