Alcatel 3L

Alcatel  today announced the local launch of three new smartphones under $200, including the Alcatel 3L the company is boasting as the best ‘bang for buck’ handset on the market today.

Known for its budget technology, the phone manufacturer is pushing the limits for what a $199 smartphone looks like with it’s latest release of the Alcatel 3L.

Sporting a triple camera set up with 48MP primary lens, a 5MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP macro lense, the Alcatel 3L has one more camera than we usually see on phones in this price range.

AI camera features will allow the lenses to automatically identify up to 22 different scenes and optimise the image based on the category. 4-in-1 big pixel tech will allow the 48MP camera to take quality low light photos and videos. Meaning that - theoretically - you’ll nab portrait mode, along with a decent night mode for less than $200.

Other key specifications for the Alcatel 3L include a 6.22-inch HD+ display, a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage, and a 4,000mAh battery.

The Alcatel 3L goes on sale May 20 through Vodafone, and will come with a $40 Vodafone prepaid SIM card.

Alcatel 1V

$50 less will get you a dual camera set up, and slightly less storage and RAM with the Alcatel 1V. While you get the same 6.22-inch HD+ display and 4,000mAh battery, the 1V has 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Other key specifications include a Helio A25 processor

The Alcatel 1V is available now through Vodafone for $149, with a prepaid $30 SIM included.

Alcatel 1B

The Alcatel 1B comes in at under $100, offering a ‘essentials only’ smartphone experience. With 5.5-inch HD+ display, the $99 handset comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Running Android 10 (Go Edition), the handset will use half the storage with stripped down Android apps built in, resulting in better performance from a less powerful processor.

A singular rear camera of 8MP is complemented by a 5MP front-facing camera, Snapdragon 215 processor, and a 3,000mAh battery.

The Alcatel 1B will be available on May 27 through Vodafone, and will come with a $10 prepaid SIM card.
