Apple has experimented with colour since the 2013 5C model shook up its monochrome colour palette to bring us vibrant shades of blue, green, pink and yellow. However, since the release of the iPhone 12 Pro, Apple has played it relatively safe, offering the classic shades we have come to know, love and expect - Starlight, Silver, (PRODUCT) RED - because, let's face it, it's what the people want.
But this year, Apple has thrown in just enough surprises to keep things interesting (like the end of the Rose Gold phase). And if how you chose your iPhone colour was anything like reading a remotely accurate horoscope, this is what your iPhone colour choice would say about you.
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus Colours
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are available in five colours: Blue, Purple, Midnight, Starlight and (PRODUCT) RED.
Blue

Blue exudes a dreamy fogginess while still maintaining a high-tech feel. It doesn't come off as 'trendy' or something you'll look back on and regret - like crimped hair or parachute pants. It's cutting edge and industrial, just as a phone should be.
Purple

With the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 in Bora Purple just last month, Apple must have felt upstaged. But iOS lovers no longer need to consider jumping ship to Android to achieve this stunning shade of purple. Lilac fanatics, you can stop clinging desperately to your iPhone 12 - now is the time to upgrade.
Midnight

Classic and sleek, Midnight doesn't scream grandeur - that would be rude. It orders a martini and leans effortlessly against the bar with the dashing sophistication of James Bond. One does not settle for Midnight, one chooses it.
Starlight

Like Telsa's Pearl White, a luxurious wedding gown or champagne bubbles, this shade feels as extraordinary as all these objects and exudes the elegance they represent. A less heavy alternative to its moody brothers, Midnight and Space Black, Starlight is still a relatively safe option.
(PRODUCT) RED

If you are umming and ahhing over your next iPhone colour choice, (PRODUCT) RED offers an additional incentive to make that decision a no-brainer. With the (PRODUCT) RED version again joining Apple's colour palette, proceeds from its sale will continue the fight against COVID-19. Because how wholesome is it to know your dollars are going towards making a difference in the lives of others? The answer is very!

iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max Colours
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are available in only four colours: Deep Purple, Gold, Silver and Space Black.
Deep Purple

Looking like smoke on the water, Apple has one-upped Samsung by offering not one but TWO shades of purple to satisfy the dreamy lavender and moody plum fans. It's not too bold, yet certainly has a royal air about it. Undoubtedly iPhone fans will have difficulty choosing a colour from the iPhone 14 and iPhone Pro models.
Gold

We were torn between hoping these rumours were both fact and fiction but it doesn't get any more real than this! Obnoxiously excessive, we're struggling to picture just who has enough moxie to pull off this look… Ok fine, Ye (the artist formerly known as Kanye West) immediately comes to mind. If you want to look like you're carrying around a gold bar, congratulations it's your time to shine - LITERALLY.
Silver

Very similar to Starlight, Silver gives off a slightly more regal vibe. If James Bond/Midnight has a younger brother, Silver would undoubtedly be it. Fresh, light and plenty of character all on its own while accentuating the iPhone's other features like the side buttons and camera lenses. Silver is a solid choice and one you won't feel guilty slapping a cover over if you dare.
Space Black

Safe and default. The go-to option when you don't know which to choose. Not ready to commit to gold jewellery just so you can coordinate it with your iPhone? Well, you don't have to. Just like a little black dress, Space Black is versatile enough to go with anything.
