The latest generation of Samsung Galaxy phones - the S25 range - are almost here. There's a bunch of deals going around if you're looking to save some money or get some extras, but these only run until the end of February 13.
How do I pre-order the Galaxy S25?
There are two main ways to get your hands on a brand-new Galaxy S25 phone. You can pre-order one on a plan from Telstra, Optus or Vodafone now or purchase one outright from Samsung or another official store.
The overall pre-order process for the Galaxy S25 no matter which option you choose is as follows.
- Decide whether you want to buy your new Galaxy S25 on a mobile phone plan or purchase it outright
- Choose which model of Galaxy S25 you're after, what storage capacity you need and consider any extras you might want
- Compare mobile providers and their plans to find the deal that best suits you
Hot tip: While planning is key, availability for a particular model and colour can vary between retailers so you might need to be flexible.
Most years Telstra, Optus and Vodafone put together exciting pre-order deals. This means it's always worth comparing their Galaxy S25 offers even if you originally plan to buy it outright.
Pre-ordering the Galaxy S25 on a plan

Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone each offer the Galaxy S25 range on mobile plans. Each has the option of either a 12, 24 or 36-month repayment period.
Working out how much your monthly repayments will be, is a simple calculation. Divide the outright price of the Galaxy S25 model you've selected and divide it by the number of months in your chosen repayment period. Then you will just need to add the cost of your monthly SIM plan to get the final monthly cost.
Here's how Telstra, Optus and Vodafone's plans for the S25 range compare for each 512GB storage variant when paired with a 36-month repayment term.
Here's a closer look at what each of the big three telcos is offering as a pre-order deal.
Optus Samsung Galaxy S25 pre-order deals
Pre-ordering any Galaxy S25 via Optus means you'll get $400 off the total RRP when you sign up for a 24 or 24-month repayment plan.
You'll also get Optus' Upgrade and Protect for the repayment term – valued at $15 per month that's $360 on a 24-month term or $540 on a 36-month term). This gets you discounted screen repairs, and an early upgrade option if you damage your phone.

Additionally, alongside these specific pre-order offers for the S25 range you can save $550 off the RRP of the Galaxy Watch 7 or Watch Ultra. This offer is available when you buy a new Galaxy S25 device on an eligible plan and stay connected on a Watch Plan for 24 or 36 months. The Watch Plan costs $10 per month.
Optus' Galaxy S25 pre-order deals end February 13.
Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S25 pre-order deals
When you pre-order any Galaxy S25 from Vodafone you can get a bonus storage upgrade. You'll get $200 upgrade value from the 256GB variant to the 512GB variant of the S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra. You'll get $400 upgrade value from the 512GB variant to 1TB variant of the S25 Ultra.
You'll also get $500 bonus trade-in credit when you trade-in an eligible device.
Vodafone is currently offering double data on all of its SIM-only plans including when you pair them with a new Samsung Galaxy S25 device. Your data will stay doubled as long as you stay on that plan. Plus, get $10 off per month ongoing for the lenght of your repayment term.

When was the new Galaxy S25 announced?
The announcement of the new Galaxy S25 range happened for Australians in the early hours of Thursday, January 23 2025.
Pre-orders are now open for the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra but they won't be available in stores until February 14. Customers who pre-order will have their orders shipped from February 6.
Pre-order the Galaxy S25 outright
If you don't want to commit to a 12-, 24- or 36-month plan with one of the telcos then you can choose to pre-order a new Galaxy S25 outright. This includes ordering from Samsung directly, Amazon, and tech retailers like JB Hi-Fi and the Good Guys.
When you pre-order any of the Galaxy S25 models through Samsung you get:
- Up to $200 towards a storage upgrade
- Up to 30% off RRP of select Galaxy ecosystem products
When will I get my Galaxy S25?
Pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 are open from now and close on February 13 with a February 14 release day.
If you're living in a major metropolitan area there's every chance you can expect to receive your phone on release day or within a few days of release. The further away you live from a metro area the longer it might take to arrive.
Samsung says pre-orders will ship from Febraury 6, so there's chance you'll even get it before release date.
Can I still get a Galaxy S25 if I don't pre-order?
Yes, but pre-ordering is generally the best way to guarantee you get your new Galaxy S25 phone as soon as possible. Once they officially launch and arrive in stores is when you may experience more delays. This is especially true if you have a particular model or colour you're after as they may sell out at a particular retailer before you can get in.
If you remain flexible on which Galaxy S25 handset you want you've got a good chance of picking one up around launch.
How much is the new Galaxy S25?
Samsung has stuck to its tried and true formula with three versions of the new Samsung Galaxy S25. These include the standard Galaxy S25, medium-sized Galaxy S25 Plus and the larger Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Prices for each Galaxy S25 phone go up incrementally with storage capacity. Prices start from $1,399 and go all the
way up to $2,749.
Here is a breakdown of the Galaxy S25's RRPs based on model and size capacity:

What's the cheapest way to get a Galaxy S25?
It's really a matter of deciding whether you're ready to fork out a large sum of cash upfront or minimise your immediate costs but end up paying more in the long term. Purchasing the Galaxy S25 outright is an immediate spend of over $1,000 dollars whereas if you choose to get it on a plan from Telstra, Optus or Vodafone you can "smooth out" the cost.
Each telco has repayment plans over 12, 24 or 36 months. Purchasing any of the S25 models on a plan with a 36-month repayment period will usually result in the smallest monthly bill.
However, its best to keep in mind that a plan from any of the big three is already on the more expensive side. To get a cheaper deal long term the most optimal scenario (if you can afford it) is to purchase your Galaxy S25 handset upfront and then pair it with a cheap SIM-only mobile plan from a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) like Boost Mobile, Belong, amaysim, TPG, or felix.
