Many of Telstra's new broadband plans have an entertainment focus

Telstra's given its fixed home broadband plans a bit of a refresh to coincide with the launch of its second generation Telstra TV set-top box.

The telco's hero plan is a $99 per month "entertainment" bundle that includes 2TB of data, a new Telstra TV, a three month subscription to one Foxtel Now starter pack, and Gateway Frontier Modem with 4G fallback.

If you're happy to go up a tier, $130 per month will get you 3TB, an entire 24-months of a Foxtel Now starter pack, or alternatively, 24-months of Foxtel through Telstra. If you take 24-months of Foxtel, you'll get an iQ3 box rather than the new Telstra TV.

Both of these plans are sold as 24-month contracts with pay-as-you-go phone calls. $10 extra adds unlimited calls to Australian local, national, and mobile numbers.

The new Telstra TV's key new features include support for 4K HDR content, free-to-air integration, and universal search across all major Australian streaming services and catch-up apps. You can read more about the new Telstra TV here.

If you're not after any entertainment options, Telstra's got a $70 plan with 100GB of data or an $80 plan with 1TB. Both of these plans only include the standard Telstra Gateway Modem (with no 4G fallback). These two plans are also available on a month-to-month basis, but you'll pay a $120 casual fee and $267 in hardware and setup.

Customers taking up these plans on the National Broadband Network will start on the NBN 25 tier. An upgrade to NBN 50 will set you back an extra $20 per month, while an upgrade to NBN 100 is an extra $30 per month.

Notably, Telstra is one of the first telcos to start providing typical speeds between peak usage periods (7pm to 11pm) as per new ACCC guidance and suggests that NBN 25 customers will get speeds of at least 15Mbps, NBN 50 customers will get at least 30Mbps, and NBN 100 customers will get at least 60Mbps.
