Origin internet customers will be sent a code for their free year of Amazon Prime within seven business days of signing up. This code needs to be redeemed within 30 days of redeeming it. A year of Amazon Prime is valued at $79.99.

While Origin's NBN plans are contract-free, customers who cancel will also lose access to their free Prime subscription at the end of their current membership month.

After the free year is over, customers will automatically be moved onto the standard $9.99 per month Amazon Prime plan. Autorenewal can be turned off, however. On top of free shipping for Amazon purchases, Amazon Prime includes access to the Prime Video streaming service.

Origin's Amazon Prime offer replaces a similar deal where customers were able to get a year of Paramount Plus.

All new Origin NBN customers also get 25,000 Everyday Rewards points when they sign up online. These are valued at $125.

While Origin's NBN plans have stacks of extras and further discounts for those who bundle with an energy plan, they're still at the pricier end of the spectrum. At full price, Origin's NBN 500 plan is $107 per month, while there are many alternatives priced around $80 per month.

That's a $27 per month difference, which is enough to cover a monthly Amazon Prime subscription as well as another service.
