Optus just introduced a new 5G home broadband plan and updated its Entertainer NBN plans to include a Netflix subscription.

The new 5G Entertainer plan is among the first 5G home broadband plans to bundle in streaming options, and will replace Optus’ previous uncapped speed 5G plan. The only other providers offering a TV package with 5G plans are Internode and iiNet, that allow you to bundle in Fetch TV.

Entertainer plans are Optus’ premium NBN offering, and have always included a slew of entertainment options bundled with the plan. Previously along with Optus Sport and OS Fitness you’d get a Fetch TV bundle, but now Fetch has been replaced with a standard Netflix subscription.

Along with the streaming bundle, Entertainer NBN plans come with the Optus Ultra WiFi Booster and WiFi Secure powered by McAfee.

Here are Optus’ current NBN plans;

All Optus internet plans are contract-free, and the hardware included in the plan is free if you stay for 36 months. If you do want to cancel before then you’ll need to pay out the prorated value of the modem, and the WiFi Booster (if applicable).

In order to claim the standard Netflix subscription, once you sign up you’ll need to activate your account via SubHub - Optus’ platform that allows you to organise and manage your paid subscriptions in one place, as opposed to doing it individually through each provider.

Activating Netflix through the platform allows you to port over all your profiles and data from your current Netflix account, so you won’t lose your spot in your latest binge. You’ll also have the option to upgrade your Standard Subscription to a Premium subscription and pay the difference ($6 per month).

Other streaming services available through SubHub include Amazon Prime Video, BritBox, and MasterClass. The more subscriptions you manage through SubHub the more money you’ll save. Adding 2 subscriptions gets you a 5% discount, and adding 3 or more gets you a 10% total discount.
