Optus today announced that residents in Bonnyrigg and Minchinbury (Western Sydney), Niagara Park (NSW Central Coast), Cook (ACT), and Kenmore (Brisbane) will be able to order 5G services before the end of month.
In addition, Opus Networks Managing Director Dennis Wong said the first commercial Optus 5G Home Broadband service in Glendenning has achieved peak download speeds of 295Mbps and an average download speed of 100Mbps.
"Our peak download speed achieved at our launch in the ACT in January demonstrated download speeds of 170Mbps, so a 50% increase in peak speeds in just a few months shows the rapid evolution and advancement of the 5G ecosystem, which is exciting news for Optus customers," said Wong.
Optus will charge $70 per month for its unlimited data 5G home wireless plans. The plan will come with a network satisfaction guarantee, which will let you cancel the service if you're not getting speeds of at least 50Mbps.
To sign-up for an Optus 5G Home Wireless plan, you need to register your interest via the Optus website.
