Smart home accessory manufacturer Aqara has launched its first wired HomeKit-compatible doorbell in Australia. Dubbed the G400, the doorbell is one of the few models available locally compatible with Apple's iPhone-centric smart home ecosystem. As a launch offer, Aqara is selling the G400 for $149 until May 25. Afterwards, it will go back to the full price of $199.
As a wired doorbell, the Aqara G400 can be powered with existing doorbell wiring or Power over Ethernet (PoE). Since the doorbell is always on, it can record continuously. In addition to supporting cloud storage through platforms like Apple Home and Aqara's own HomeGuardian service, the G400 supports local storage via microSD cards as large as 512GB.
The G400 also supports Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings ecosystems.
Other key specifications include 2K video resolution with a 165-degree ultra-wide lens, IP65 water resistance, and a separate wireless chime included in the box.
The G400 is available from today.
