Sony and Optus will partner on an exclusive Australian carrier release of the Xperia Z5 Premium, the first phone with a 4K resolution display.
First released back in Australia late last year, the Z5 Premium has only been available as an outright purchase. According to Sony, “overwhelming demand” for the Premium model has encouraged the move to postpaid carrier plans with Optus.
The 4K resolution display (2160 x 3840 pixel) is the centrepiece of the Z5 Premium, but it isn’t the only feature worth consideration. Powering the 5.5-inch screen is a big 3430 mph battery, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB RAM providing the computing power.
Sony also include its market leading 23-megapixel camera with this model.
Optus will start plans for the Z5 Premium at $60 per month ($20 for the phone on a $40 My Plan Plus plan). Or, you can get the phone for $0 on an $80 plan, currently with 6GB of data included.
