Less than two months after taking the wraps off the Xperia XZ2 at Mobile World Congress, Sony has unveiled the Xperia XZ2 Premium. While the design is almost identical to the XZ2, the XZ2 Premium features a much higher resolution 5.8-inch 4K display, and is the first Sony flagship smartphone to sport two rear-facing cameras.
The Xperia XZ2 Premium's dual rear-facing camera setup is made up of a colour sensor and a monochrome sensor, as opposed to a regular lens and a zoom lens as found on Apple or Samsung's handsets. The main benefit of these should be improved lowlight imaging: the XZ2 Premium can reach a maximum ISO of 51,200 for photos, and 12,800 for video. Sony says this allows for "ultra-lowlight capture previously only seen in interchangeable lens cameras".
You'll also be able to use the camera setup for monochrome photography and portrait mode, but these won't be available at launch. Instead, Sony has these slated for a software update scheduled for 2018's third quarter.

Here's how the Xperia XZ2 Premium compares to the regular Xperia XZ2 in terms of hardware.
