If you're not fussed about owning the latest iPhone but still want an iPhone, JB Hi-Fi is flogging off 2014's iPhone 6 for real cheap: just $379 will get you a 32GB iPhone 6 on Telstra prepaid. It's easily the cheapest iPhone deal we've seen around.
While JB has run similar offers in the past, they've been in-store exclusives. This time around, you can also order online. The $379 offer does however only apply to the gold model; if you want space grey, you're looking at a slightly pricier $449.
Since the iPhone 6 is being sold as a prepaid device, it's locked to Telstra's network, which means you won't be able to take it to another provider without forking out a bit of extra cash. If you want to unlock it within the first six months, you're looking at an $80 fee. If you're happy to wait, the fee gets cut to $25 after six months. After two years, you'll be able to unlock your iPhone 6 for free.
The 32GB iPhone 6 configuration is a reasonably new model released by Apple last year (when it launched, the iPhone 6 was available in 16GB and 64GB configurations). Rather than selling it directly, the 32GB iPhone 6 is only available through retail partners.
While the iPhone 6 is almost four years old now, it's still being supported by Apple. In fact, the upcoming iOS 12 update is designed to speed up older devices. We don't know how long Apple will keep supporting the iPhone 6 for, but we wouldn't be surprised if it gets upgraded to iOS 13 in 2019.
