HTC's latest midrange smartphone - the One X10 - will go on sale next week, packing a hefty 4,000mAh battery. HTC says you'll get two days of standard use out of the device, and despite above average battery capacity, the One X10 is still just over 8mm thick.

Other key specifications include a black aluminium body, 5.5-inch 1080p display, a MediaTek Helio P10 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a rear-facing fingerprint reader, and a 16MP rear-facing camera.

On paper, the One X10 looks like a reasonably attractive proposition. It's about $50 cheaper than OPPO's R9s (which we'd currently say is the midrange phone to beat), but has half of the internal storage and less RAM. The One X10's 4,000mAh is a step up from the R9s though. But as always, we'll reserve our final thoughts for when we get some hands on time with the phone.

The One X10 will retail for $549 outright. JB Hi-Fi will have the phone on May 18, but if you'd prefer to get in on a contract, Vodafone will sell you the One X10 from May 17. Vodafone has yet to confirm its One X10 plans, but you'll up for a $5 monthly handset repayment fee if you want the phone on a $40 Red plan.

Vodafone's $40 Red plan currently includes unlimited talk and text and 1GB of data. As standard, you'll need to sign a 24-month contract.
