Less than three months after going on sale, HTC has drastically cut the price of the HTC U Ultra, its latest flagship smartphone. Originally retailing for $1,199 outright, the phone is now available for $899. That's $300 off.
When we reviewed the U Ultra earlier this year, price was one of our major concerns, so it's nice to see that HTC has addressed that criticism. At $899, the U Ultra is a much more compelling alternative to your typical $1,000-plus flagship, provided you're able to handle how damn big it is. Of course, HTC is set to unveil a new device on May 16, so it could be worth waiting to see what's next before rushing out to buy a discounted Ultra.
Key specifications for the U Ultra include a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, a minimum of 64GB of expandable storage, 4GB of RAM, a fingerprint reader, a 3,000mAh battery, a 12MP rear-facing camera, and a 16MP front-facing camera.
HTC's also cut the price of the more midrange U Play from $799 to $649.
