Xiaomi today announced Australian pricing and availability for its mid-tier Redmi Note 15 series, with devices going on sale next week.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G (pictured above) sits at the top of the family, and despite its $799 starting price, it has a couple of durability features typically reserved for more expensive devices. To start, its display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is normally reserved for flagship phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Google Pixel 10.
This is joined by 2.5m drop resistance, extra protection against bends and pressure, and an IP68 water resistance rating.
Other key specifications for the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G include a 6.83-inch 1280p display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a minimum of 8GB of RAM, at least 256GB of storage, and a 6,500mAh battery. In terms of cameras, the phone has a 200MP primary lens and an 8MP ultra-wide on the back, and a 32MP selfie camera on the front.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G is available in three colours: black, blue, or brown. The black and blue models come with a fibre-reinforced plastic back, while the brown model has a leather back.
Pricing for the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G starts at $799 for a 256GB model or $899 for a 512GB model. Anyone who picks up the phone before February 11 will get a Redmi Pad 2 tablet valued at $349.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus 5G is joined by the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 15.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G shares its durability credentials with the Plus model, as well as the 200MP camera, but has a lower resolution selfie camera, slower charging speeds, and a different chipset.
Key specifications for the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G include a 6.83-inch 1280p display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 6,580mAh battery. The phone has a 200MP primary lens and an 8MP ultra-wide on the back, and a 20MP selfie camera on the front.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G will sell for $699, and customers who buy it before February 11 are also eligible for the free tablet offer.
Lastly, the standard Redmi Note 15 5G is another step down, losing all extra durability credentials other than an IP65 water resistance rating. IP65 is suitable for heavy rain, but not total submersion like IP68.
Key specifications for the Redmi Note 15 5G include a 6.67-inch 1080p+ display, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 5,520mAh battery. Cameras include a 108MP primary lens and an 8MP ultra-wide lens on the back, and a 20MP selfie camera on the front.
The Redmi Note 15 5G will typically retail for $599, but an introductory offer will see it priced at $499 until February 11.
Orders for all devices open on January 22 direct through Xiaomi's Australian webstore.
All three Redmi Note 15 phones will get four years of major operating system updates and six years of security updates.
