In light of ~ e v e r y t h i n g ~, Optus is offering all NSW residents 20% off its 80GB mobile plan for the first year.
The plan would normally set you back $55, but if you're in NSW, you'll pay $44 per month instead. This discount will last for 12 months, after which you'll pay full price. When you factor in the discount, this makes it Optus' most affordable postpaid plan. You'd normally pay $45 per month for 20GB. The plan is contract-free however, so you're always free to leave when the discount runs out. Or when lockdown ends ðŸ˜.
Optus' 80GB plan also includes unlimited international talk and text to 35 countries, 5G network access, and an Optus Sport subscription. If you go over your data allowance, you'll be able to keep using your plan at capped speeds of 1.5Mbps instead of paying excess data charges.
This offer is available as a SIM-only plan or can be paired with a new phone. Just be aware that if you pick a 24-month or 36-month repayment for your phone, you won't keep the plan discount for the entire length of your repayment.
This offer is available to both new and existing customers and runs until August 22.
If you're an existing Optus customer fiscally impacted by lockdown, Optus has financial hardship measures available. Financial hardship plans are personalised for each customer, and can include moving you to a more cost-effective plan, temporarily restricting services, and waiving late payments and putting a temporary hold on your bill.
If you're having trouble paying your bill by its due date, your best option is to call the Optus team on 1300 308 839. If you want the shortest wait time, Optus recommends calling before 12pm AEST or between 2pm and 4pm AEST.
