If you don't think the battery on your new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, or iPhone XR is quite long enough, Apple has a solution. The Cupertino company today launched official "Smart Battery Cases" for its trio of new phones, promising sizeable increases in battery life.
Apple says you can expect the following:
- Up to 21 hours of internet use on the iPhone XS, up from 12
- Up to 20 hours of internet use on the iPhone XS Max, up from 13
- Up to 22 hours of internet use of the iPhone XR, up from 15
That's a solid improvement.
Whereas most battery cases tend to uniformly increase the size of your phone, Apple's Smart Battery Cases elevate the lower two thirds for a more contoured look. Sir Mix A Lot would approve.
The new generation of Smart Battery Cases support wireless charging, provide intelligent battery status on your phone's lock screen and notification centre, and still support Lightning accessories such as EarPods.
No matter which 2018 iPhone you've got, the Smart Battery Case will set you back $199. You can get them in a choice of white or black. While the iPhone XS and iPhone X are identical in size, Apple says the iPhone XS Smart Battery Case is not compatible with the iPhone X.
