MyNetFone internet plan review
MyNetFone Internet Plans Review: The Verdict

MyNetFone is a fairly standard NBN provider with pricing that leans toward the cheaper side. You're able to bundle in VoIP with every plan at competitive rates, but MyNetFone's advertised evening speeds are a little average compared to the rest of the market.

What we love
  • Not too expensive
  • Good home phone options
  • Range of support options
What could be improved
  • Average evening speeds
  • Pricey "no contract" setup fees
The essentials
  • Pricing: From $49.99 per month.
  • Technology: ADSL2+, Naked DSL, and NBN.
  • Extras: VoIP available on all plans.
  • Support: 7 days a week, 8am to 10pm Monday - Friday. 9am to 5pm Saturday - Sunday.

MyNetFone was originally founded as a VoIP company, but now also provides broadband services.

In terms of NBN, MyNetFone has a fairly simple plan selection. You pick which of the four NBN speed tiers you want, and then pick from the following data options:

  • 200GB with pay-as-you-go calls
  • Unlimited with pay-as-you-go calls
  • Unlimited with unlimited local, national, and mobile calls

Each plan is available with no-contract, on a 12-month contract, or on a 24-month contract. You'll pay $199 in setup fees for no-contract, $49 for 12 months, and nothing if you sign up for 24 months.

MyNetFone NBN 50 plans compared

Typical evening speed: 30Mbps

MyNetFone's unlimited NBN 50 plan isn't the cheapest option around, but it's definitely on the more affordable end of the spectrum. You can save around $10 per month with telcos like Exetel, but you could also be paying a lot more.

MyNetFone NBN 100 plans compared

Typical evening speed: 60Mbps

While MyNetFone can save you money when it comes to NBN 50, the price spread is a lot smaller when it comes to unlimited NBN 100 plans. The vast majority of providers will charge at least $89 a month, which incidentally, is what MyNetFone is asking for.

MyNetFone NBN 25 plans compared

Typical evening speed: 15Mbps

MyNetFone's NBN 25 plan isn't worth considering at the moment. It's billed at $69.99 per month, which is the same as what MyNetFone is charging for a NBN 50 plan. Faster speeds at the same price are a no-brainer.

Typical evening speed: 7Mbps

MyNetFone's NBN 12 unlimited NBN 12 plan is standard fare. There's cheaper options, but you're not overpaying either.
