Starlink has introduced a new residential plan for $69 per month. The new plan, now the cheapest that Starlink offers, comes with capped speeds of 100Mbps, similar to those found on an NBN 100 plan.
At present, it's only available in select areas. You'll need to input your address on Starlink's website to get an accurate quote for plans available in your area.
Here's a look at how the new Residential 100Mbps plan compares to its other residential plans:
It's slightly more expensive than an NBN 100 or NBN 500 plan with promotional pricing. These plans typically start as low as $60 per month.
Although it's worth noting that if you have a fixed-line NBN connection, you probably shouldn't get a Starlink plan.
All new customers need to pay the standard shipping and handling fee of $19 for their hardware kit.
The standard Starlink kit acts as your router for connecting to Starlink's low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites and can either be self-installed or professionally installed. It's unclear at this stage whether the new plan comes with no upfront fees with rental hardware.
Starlink's other Residential plans come with maximum speeds more comparable to NBN 250 plans.
At the time of writing, Starlink has cut the cost of its Residential Lite and Residential plans by $20 per month (for the first 12 months) in select areas. These offers are available until December 5, 2025.
Starlink offers a 30-day hardware trial. If you change your mind within the trial period, you can return the hardware for a full refund (note that this does not include the first month's plan fees).
These are the most popular NBN 50 plans with WhistleOut users this week:
