From now until January 1 2024, residential homeowners in Australia can purchase refurbished Starlink kits for just $299 — that’s half price. Brand-new hardware costs still sit at $599, but this has also come down in price since it was first introduced in Australia in 2021.
Starlink could be a great alternative internet option if NBN just isn’t cutting it for you or you just can’t get a stable 4G or 5G home wireless connection alternative at your location, especially for those in regional and rural areas.
In addition to hardware, a Starlink plan will still set you back $139 per month. You’ll also need to pay a $30 shipping and handling fee to receive your kit.
Starlink plans are pretty steep compared to Satellite NBN, however. Check out some Basic I, Basic II and Fast Satellite plans below:
Satellite NBN plans on this speed tier come with a max download speed of 12Mbps.
Satellite NBN plans on this speed tier come with a max download speed of 25Mbps:
Satellite NBN plans on this speed tier come with a max download speed of 100Mbps.
And for those wondering if you can get Elon Musk's satellite internet service, Starlink now covers all of Australia as shown in the official Starlink coverage map below:

If you're still unsure, you'll be able to confirm that coverage is available when you enter your address on the Starlink website. To support the Starlink satellites in orbit, there are 20 Starlink ground stations in Australia spread between New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia.
