Following on from TPG and Vodafone launching 5G home internet plans, sibling brands iiNet, Internode, and Westnet have followed suit. The trio are all offering identical plans, but the pricing varies slightly from TPG and Vodafone's offering.
If you're looking at iiNet, Internode, or Westnet, you can pick from these two plans: a $74.99 per month plan with unlimited data and speeds capped to 100Mbps, or an $84.99 per month plan with uncapped download speeds. If you're an existing NBN customer with any of these three telcos, swapping over to its respective 5G home internet plan will score you a $5 per month discount for the life of your plan.
All customers get their first month free, and the plans are all contract-free. If you leave within your first 36 months, you'll need to return your modem with 21 days of canceling.
Customers can also add a Fetch Mini set-top box for $0 per month for their first two years. This increases to $5 per month thereafter. Opting for Fetch does attract a $59.99 per month setup fee, however. You'll also need to add on any channel packs you want as extras, starting at $6 per month,
All three telcos' plans are naturally powered by the Vodafone 5G network.
Vodafone's 5G home internet plans are fairly similar: you're looking at a $75 per month for a plan with speeds of up to 100Mbps, or $85 per month for uncapped 5G. You'll have $5 per month if you're a Vodafone mobile customer. Unlike the above trio, you'll get stung with a modem fee if you leave within your first 36 months. This is equivalent to $17 for each month left in your three year term.
On the other hand, TPG's plans are a little cheaper. The entry-level 100Mbps plan costs $69.99 per month, and the uncapped plan $79.99 per month. If you're an existing TPG NBN customer, you'll also save $5 per month. If you cancel, you can return your modem to avoid paying a fee.
Optus and Telstra also offer 5G home internet plans. Optus has a similar pricing tiered structure. You're looking at $79 per month with 100Mbps speeds. Uncapped will set you back $89 per month for your first six months and $99 per month thereafter.
Optus is also running a free month offer, but it's not quite a free trial. If you cancel your plan within your first 36 months, you'll be up for a modem fee. This is equivalent to $16 multiplied by the number of months left in your term.
Telstra has just one 5G home internet plan: an $85 per month option with no speed cap and a 1TB allowance. If you leave within your first two years, you can return your modem to avoid paying a fee.
