Aussie Broadband has cut the price of its "Pro" home NBN plans by as much as $49, making its most expensive consumer plans a little bit more affordable. The Pro plans boast upload speed as high as 400Mbps, which is a big step up from standard NBN plans, which currently max out at 50Mbps on the NBN 1000 speed tier.
These Pro plans were previously much more expensive than Aussie's standard home NBN range, costing as much as $199 per month. Here's how pricing has changed:
| Plan | Old Pricing | New Pricing |
|---|---|---|
| 250/100 | $129 per month | $109 per month |
| 500/200 | $169 per month | $130 per month |
| 1000/400 | $199 per month | $150 per month |
These plans are only available to those with an FTTP NBN connection.
Here are the full details:
These plans all come with a free static IP, which would normally cost $10 per month on a standard Aussie Broadband home plan. While the speeds are what one might consider business-grade, they don't come with business-grade support. As such, the plans are geared toward home users rather than as an alternative to business customers.
Of course, not everyone needs upload speeds as fast as Aussie Broadband is offering on the Pro plans. In a home context, the benefits of faster upload speeds would largely be speeding up remote backups, sending large files to someone else, or getting better connectivity for a home server setup.
As such, a standard NBN plan would be more than enough for typical NBN users.
