In need of a laugh? Read on for some of favourite TV comedy picks from Netflix, Stan, Foxtel Now, and SBS On Demand. Just don't blame us if your face gets sore from laughing.

Wonder Showzen

Wonder Showzen is the weirdest show you've never seen. The pitch black satire uses the format of a children's show (complete with puppets) to explore adult themes such as politics, religion, and sex. We're talking God-commits-suicide-and-is-eaten-by-a-puppet dark. Needless to say, don't let your kids watch this.

Atlanta

Tiptoeing the line between drama and comedy, Atlanta is a TV series created by and starring Donald Glover (of Community and Childish Gambino fame). The semi-autobiographical show follows two cousins trying to make it big, and is rife with Glover's eccentric humour.

Available on SBS On Demand

Moone Boy

Moone Boy is an Irish sitcom created and co-starring Chris O'Dowd of The IT Crowd fame. The surprisingly wholesome show follows the adventures a 12-year-old boy - Martin Moon - and his imaginary friend (and bad influence) played by O'Dowd.

Available on Netflix and Stan

Silicon Valley

Move aside Big Bang Theory, Silicon Valley is how you do a comedy about nerds. To be honest, it's an insult to mention Silicon Valley in the same sentence as Big Bang Theory, because you know, Silicon Valley is actually funny.
