Telstra NBN plans

Looking at Telstra for your brand spanking new NBN connection? We've handpicked a couple of great deals currently on offer.

If you'd prefer to find yourself a deal, check out the rest of Telstra's plans, here.

Best basics

If you just want to get online, your best bet from Telstra is an $80 per month online only offer that gets you 500GB of data. This will get you speeds of 25Mbps. Speed boosts to 50Mbps or 100Mbps are available for $20 per month or $30 per month extra, respectively.

This plan doesn't include calls, so if you want to keep using your landline, you'll be charged at pay-as-you-go rates.

Best value

In terms of bang for buck, Telstra's $99 per month plan is a solid option. In addition to a 1TB download allowance, you'll get standard calls to Australian landlines and mobiles, and a bonus Telstra TV set-top box.

Default speeds are limited to 25Mbps, but speed boosts to 50Mbps or 100Mbps are available for $20 per month or $30 per month extra, respectively.

Best big data

Telstra doesn't do unlimited NBN plans, but still has options for heavy downloaders. If you're downloading the entire internet every month, you'll want Telstra's $140 per month plan with a 4TB download allowance.

In addition to a LOT of data, you'll get a bonus Telstra TV set-top box and a basic Foxtel package included with your subscription. Telstra will throw in three months of access to Foxtel Sports HD or the Drama and Movie package, but after the introductory period is over, you'll need to fork out a little extra or you'll be limited to Foxtel's standard channels.

In terms of calls, you get unlimited calls to Australian fixed line and mobile numbers, and unlimited international calls to home phones in 35 countries and to mobiles in 17 of those.

Best high speed

All of Telstra's NBN plans are 25Mbps out of the box, so you'll need to bolt on a speed pack if you want a faster connection. An extra $30 per month on top of your plan will take you to download speeds of 100Mbps, and upload speeds of 40Mbps.

Telstra's $90 per month online only offer is a great base option to add a speed pack to. The $90 plan gets you a 1TB download allowance, and the total price is $120 per month after you add a 100Mbps speed pack.

This plan doesn't include calls, so if you want to keep using your landline, you'll be charged at pay-as-you-go rates.

Best TV bundle

Telstra is one of the few internet providers who'll hook you up with your Foxtel and your broadband on the same bill. The cheapest way to do this is Telstra's $120 per month plan, which includes 2TB of data, a Telstra TV set-top box, and the basic Foxtel channel package.

You'll also get three months of free access to either Sports or Movies and Drama, but you'll need to pay extra for additional channels after the offer is over.
