Companion apps for routers, modem-routers, and mesh WiFi systems help take a lot of the frustration out of updating settings or monitoring your network. But even when a companion app is supported, it doesn't usually offer the full settings experience. Cue the entry of browser-based web portals.
While web portals differ between brands and even models, thankfully, the same brands tend to stick with identical IP addresses for their products. Use the guide below to access the router login details for your modem-router or router. But before I get into that, check out popular NBN plans from our database today.
Most networking gear has a sticker beneath it (or on the back) that has crucial details: the model number, default WiFi SSID and password, and the web portal address as well as its username and password. Take a pic of that sticker before placement to have an easy reference for these details. Then use a computer or other device connected to the networking device (wireless or wired) to input the web portal address, followed by the username and password. Always defer to what's on the sticker vs the general information below.
Asus router login
The default web portal IP address for an Asus router login, like the Asus RT-BE58U, should be either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.50.1. Asus calls it a "Web GUI". Alternatively, use http://www.asusrouter.com to access your Asus router login on your home network. Asus networking gear should prompt you to create a username and password for the web portal when you first log in.
You may be better off using the IP address numbers rather than a text-based networking device URL (where offered). Why? The numbers will give you a direct connection, whereas the URL may not play nice with your web browser, especially if the address starts with "http" rather than "https". The latter is a secure connection that most websites use, and when the "s" isn't there, modern browsers like Chrome may try to deter you from visiting your networking device's web portal.
Telstra modem-router login
Whichever Telstra Smart Modem you're using, head to 192.168.0.1 for the Telstra modem-router login page. Alternatively, use http://mymodem.com. The default username is 'admin' across Telstra Smart Modem generations. Gen 1 and 2 users can punch in 'Telstra' as the default password, while Telstra Smart Modem 3 and Telstra Smart Modem 4 owners should use the WiFi password printed on the sticker beneath the device.
You get the Telstra Smart Modem 4 for $0 with any of the Telstra NBN plans below.
If you can't find the username and password for your device's web portal, there are some combinations to try. For starters, 'admin' or 'administrator' are common usernames across brands. They may also be the passwords. If not, 'password' or leaving the password field blank have historically been popular default web portal credentials. If you do try these, you may get temporarily blocked from logging in after a few failed attempts, so restart your browser between attempts. You should also update your router's password if it uses one of these insecure options.
Netgear router login
By default, the Netgear router login address for the Netgear RS600 (or any other Netgear device) is either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Alternatively, use www.routerlogin.net or www.routerlogin.com to access the web portal. If you're using a Netgear Orbi product, try the orbilogin.com URL instead. The default username is 'admin', and the password should be 'password'.
If your device's IP address has been manually updated, the corresponding numerical option/s on this page won't work. But you can find out your networking device's IP address. On a Windows PC, press the Windows key and search for 'cmd'. Left-click on Command Prompt, then type in 'ipconfig' and hit Enter. You may have to scroll up but look for the number next to 'Default Gateway'. This will show you the IP address of your router or modem-router. On Mac, click the Apple icon, then go to System Settings. Choose either 'Wi-Fi' or 'Network', then click 'Details'. Your router's IP address will show up next to 'Router'.
TP-Link router login
For TP-Link's web-based management interface, use either 192.168.0.1 or https://tplinkwifi.net to get to the user portal. You should then be prompted to set a new administrator password. If not, the default username and password should be 'admin'. If you're in the market for a TP-Link networking device, we recommend the TP-Link Archer GE800, TP-Link HX510, and the VX420-G2v.
Alternatively, the TP-Link VX230v is available as an optional add-on with these popular NBN plans from our database.
Mesh WiFi routers may not have browser-based web portals, as is the case with Amazon eero and Google Nest WiFi products. They do, however, tend to always have companion apps, which will give you a range of settings and monitoring tools for your home network.
Optus modem-router login
The Optus Ultra Wi-Fi modem-router login is accessible using 192.168.0.1. There is no username, but the password is the same as the default WiFi password. Both are printed on the sticker beneath the Optus modem-router.
If you sign up for an Optus NBN plan, you get the Optus Ultra Wi-Fi Gen 2 as $0 add-on. Here's a list of popular Optus NBN plans from our database.
NetComm router login
Use 192.168.20.1 to access the NetComm router login screen in your web browser, including the NetComm NF20MESH and CF40MESH. The default username should be 'admin', and the password is printed on the sticker beneath your NetComm router or modem-router.
More, Skymesh, and Tangerine let you optionally bundle a NetComm modem-router with their NBN plans. Here's a list of popular More, Skymesh, and Tangerine plans from our database.
iiNet router login
iiNet and Vodafone (and TPG in 2026) use the Arcadyan HWG2025 as their NBN 2000-capable WiFi 7 modem-router. Whichever provider you get it from, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 should get you access to the web portal. The iiNet router login password will be printed on the sticker underneath your iiNet Wi-Fi Max modem-router.
If you're interested in the Arcadyan HWG2025, check out these popular iiNet, Vodafone, and TPG NBN plans from our database.
eero login
Unfortunately, Amazon eero devices don't have browser-based web portals, which is a shame because we like the Amazon eero Max 7 and love the eero Pro 7. You'll want to download the 'eero wifi system' app for iOS or Android to change settings and monitor your home network.
While they don’t have browser-based web portals, eero products are popular among the providers we track in our comparison engine. Here's a list of popular NBN plans from providers in our database that offer eero products as an optional plan add-on.
ZTE modem-router login
By default, 192.168.20.1 should get you access to your ZTE modem-router login, including the once popular ZTE H1600 modem-router. The username and password may both be 'admin', or it could be 'admin' for the username and 'Haiku_V2' for the password. Check the sticker beneath the ZTE modem-router to confirm the credentials.
Superloop offers the ZTE H1600 as an optional modem-router add-on for its NBN plans. Here's a list of popular Superloop NBN plans from our database.
Tenda router login
If you're using a Tenda device, 192.168.2.1 should get you to the browser-based web portal. Then use 'admin' for both the username and password to log in. Note that you can update the default username and password on Tenda networking devices.
Kaon modem login
If you have a Kaon modem-router, like the Kaon DG2144, try 192.168.0.1 to access the browser-based web portal. When you're asked for credentials, use 'admin' for the username and password.
The Kaon DG2144 modem-router is available with NBN plans from Dodo and iPrimus. Here's a list of popular Dodo and iPrimus plans from our database.
Technicolor router login
For Technicolor networking devices, use 192.168.0.1 to access the web portal. You should be able to log in using 'admin' as the username and 'password' as the password.
Belong lets its users bundle a Technicolor DWA4135 modem-router with its NBN plans. Here's a snapshot of popular Belong NBN plans from our database.
