An earlier version of this article stated that Disney Plus Standard and Premium subscribers would not be impacted when the Standard with Ads plan launched. Disney revealed later that the price of Standard and Premium were increasing. We've updated the article to reflect the most recent information.
Last month, Disney Plus announced it would be launching an ad-supported tier in Australia and New Zealand, and now we know exactly how much it will cost and when it's launching. Speaking with Mediaweek, Disney revealed that the new Standard with Ads plan would cost $9.99 per month when it launches on Tuesday, April 21.
Standard with Ads will include two ad-supported HD 1080p streams and won't include downloads for offline viewing. So it's essentially the same as the Standard plan but with no offline viewing and ad breaks.
During an interview with the Australian Financial Review, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company ANZ, Kylie Watson-Wheeler, said the new plan would not only "provide more choice, flexibility and value to subscribers", but that the new low price point would make it easier for "partners to incldue Disney Plus as an offer or a bundle".
Disney has reiterated that Standard and Premium subscribers may still be subject to ads served on live and linear programming for sports, trailers and promotional content.
How much does Disney Plus cost now?
In addition to the new Standard with Ads plan, Disney has also increased the pricing for Disney Plus Standard and Premium in Australia. Standard and Premium now cost $17.99 (previously $15.99) and $24.99 (previously $20.99) per month, respectively, while the third ad-supported option will make access to Disney Plus the most affordable it has been since it first launched at $8.99 per month in November 2019.
Here's how Disney Plus plans will compare when Standard with Ads launches April 21:
| Standard with Ads | Standard | Premium | |

| Monthly price | $9.99 | $17.99 | $24.99 |
