Zootopia 2 - Out now
Movie | March 11 (Out now)
Disney’s Oscar-nominated Zootopia 2 was released on Disney Plus on March 11 in Australia. The sequel to 2016’s Zootopia sees Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) clashing just one week after becoming partners at the ZPD (Zootopia Police Department). Through the magic of therapy, the two super sleuths must work together to uncover a conspiracy involving a rogue snake (Ke Juy Quan) and an aristocratic Lynx family. It’s a huge step up from the first film, providing more laughs per minute thanks in part to Andy Samberg’s role as Pawbert, the bumbling outcast of the Lynxley family.
Rooster Fighter
TV show | March 15 (New episodes weekly)
Rooster Fighter is an anime adaptation of a web manga series, and while it’s certainly as silly as it looks, the action rivals anime greats like One-Punch Man.
In a world overrun by mutant demons - some helpful, some not - Keiji is a wandering warrior on a mission to find and kill the demon who murdered his sister, The White Demon. Along the way, he serves as a benevolent warrior-for-hire for anyone in need of a demon-slayer. Oh, and we forgot to mention that Keiji is a rooster or, in his words, a ‘migratory bird’.
It’s a little bit Lone Wolf and Cub and a little bit Kung Fu, except in place of a shōgun executioner or David Carradine, you’re rooting for a chicken with an iron-clad code of honour.
Watch trailerDaredevil: Born Again Season 2
TV series | March 24 (New episodes weekly)
Part-time attorney, part-time masked vigilante Matt Murdoch (Charlie Cox) is heading back to the small screen ahead of his rumoured appearance in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Six months after the events of Born Again Season 1, Kingpin aka Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) has settled in to his role as Mayor of New York City and is securing his seat with an Anti-Vigilante Task Force, a city-sanctioned militia responsible for hunting down street-level heroes like Daredevil, The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter reprising her role from the Netflix series).
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premiered March 24 with new episodes released every Tuesday.
Watch trailerMike & Nick & Nick & Alice
Movie | March 24
Name movies are always hard to remember–but the upcoming sci-fi crime caper on Disney Plus, Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, takes the cake.
Not only is it a movie made up of four first names, not only are two of those names the same, but two of those characters are played by Vince Vaughan. The audacity. To top it all off, the director’s name, BenDavid Grabinksy, is two first names glued together.
The movie itself is sort of like 2012's Looper if it were a comedy. Little is known about the plot, except that it follows two gangsters (James Marsden and Vince Vaughan), the girl they love (Eiza González) and a time machine.
Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice premieres March 27.
Watch trailerAvatar: Fire and Ash
Movie | March 31
Disney's one Oscar win this year was awarded to Avatar: Fire and Ash for Best Visual Effects.
Avatar: Fire and Ash is the third instalment in the journey of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and his Na'vi family on the stunning forest planet, Pandora. When the Mangkwan fire cult teams up with an old foe, Avatar: Fire and Ash becomes more of a civil war, rather than an intergalactic struggle between humans and Na'vi.
Avatar: Fire and Ash premieres on Disney Plus March 27.

TV show | April 1
What is there to say about Donna Hay Coastal Celebrations, really? It’s Australian cookbook mogul Donna Hay hosting a show that’s a vaguely named catch-all that tells you everything and somehow nothing at the same time, just like her books. It’s about cooking for various sea-adjacent festivities. It’s four episodes long and will make you wonder how many cookbooks you've gotta write to be as rich as Donna and her mates.
Donna Hay Coastal Celebrations premieres April 1.
Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord
TV series | April 6 (New episodes weekly)
While it would have been nice to get a live-action Darth Maul movie or series with Ray Park returning for the role, we’ll have to settle for Maul - Shadow Lord. With George Lucas protege Dave Filoni in the cockpit and Sam Witwer returning to voice Maul, this series is sure to satisfy Clone Wars fans who have been patiently waiting for more from the Dathomirian crimelord. Set between Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, Maul - Shadow Lord will explore Maul’s time on the planet Janix, where he searches for a new apprentice to help him piece back together his empire of crime.
Maul - Shadow Lord premieres on April 6 exclusively on Disney Plus. Two episodes will be released each week over five weeks.
Watch trailerThe Testaments
TV series | April 8 (New episodes weekly)
Criminally overlooked at this year’s Oscars, Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another) is heading to the small screen for the direct sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments.
Pitched as a coming-of-age story set in Gilead, The Testaments picks up 15 years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale where we meet Agnes (Infiniti), the adopted daughter of an elite Commander, and Daisy (Lucy Halliday), a teenager from Canada who travels to Gilead after discovering a shocking family secret. Their stories entwine when they’re enrolled at a prep school for future wives under the watchful eye of a disenfranchised Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd reprising her role from The Handmaid’s Tale).
The first three episodes of The Testaments premiere on Disney Plus on April 8. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly until the tenth and final episode on May 27.
Watch trailerMalcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair
TV series | April 10
Almost two decades after the early 2000s single-camera sitcom ended, Malcolm in the Middle is returning for a new miniseries, Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair. Middle-child Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) now lives a happy life with his wife and daughter, effectively estranged from his chaotic family. But when his parents, Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek), invite Malcolm and his family home for their 40th wedding anniversary, Malcolm’s anxieties prove to be justified.
Joining Frankie Muniz is most of the original cast, including Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Masterson, Justin Berfield, even Craig Lamar Traylor and Gary Anthony Williams will return to their roles of Stevie and Stevie’s father, Abe. The only actor not returning from the core family is Erik Per Sullivan, who portrayed Dewey. But don’t worry! He hasn’t been cancelled, he’s just not acting anymore. Dewey will instead be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark.
The four-episode miniseries will premiere April 10 on Disney Plus.
Watch trailerThe Punisher: One Last Kill
Special | May 12
After he appears in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 but before he cameos in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Jon Bernthal's grizzled Frank Castle will get his own one-off TV special, titled The Punisher: One Last Kill.
Marvel has confirmed that The Punisher: One Last Kill will premiere on May 12, exclusively on Disney Plus, and that it would premiere under the 'Marvel Studios Special Presentation' like previous one-offs Werewolf By Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Those two specials ran for 42 and 53 minutes, respectively, so we'd expect The Punisher: One Last Kill to clock in at under an hour, but that all depends on how much story they've got to tell in the leadup to Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The Punisher: One Last Kill premieres May 12 on Disney Plus.Percy Jackson and the Olympians - Season 3
TV series | Late 2026 (New episodes weekly)
Based on Rick Riordan's wildly popular fantasy series of the same name, Percy Jackson and the Olympians is set to return to Disney Plus later this year.
This series is praised for being more true to the novels than the two Percy Jackson films from the early 2010s, starring Logan Lerman as Percy Jackson. This is likely because the author had a direct influence on the writing for this show.
Season 2 left audiences on a high with dramatic fight scenes as the heroes scrambled to defend camp from Luke and Kronos' army. Clearly teeing things up for more, fans will have their new season within the year, meaning its delivering its third season in as many years.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 doesn't have a firm release date, only a 2026 release window.

X-Men ‘97 Season 2
TV series | Mid-2026
Reviving the X-Men on the small screen by simply continuing the animated phenomenon from the 90s was a risk that paid off in spades. Not only is X-Men ‘97 a worthy successor to the beloved cartoon, it’s also easily one of Disney’s most compelling uses of a Marvel franchise in recent memory. Given its reception, a second season was always on the kinetically-charged cards, but a recent comic book release suggests it may be closer than we thought.
There’s no official release date yet but according to Disney, X-Men ‘97 Season 2 will arrive in the US Summer window in 2026 (between June and September).
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder - Season 4
TV series | 2026
Disney's 2001 animated sitcom, The Proud Family, was successfully rebooted in 2022 for Disney Plus with The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. It's uncommon for these sorts of series revivals to gain much momentum, but Louder and Prouder is now three seasons deep with a fourth arriving in 2026.
Rather than aging the beloved characters from the early 2000s series, Louder and Prouder simply transports the Proud family to the 2020s, tackling problems teens face in the age of social media and influencers.
Season 4 of The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder doesn't have an official release date.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2
TV series | Late 2026
Set in an alternate timeline to the MCU, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man is an animated series that explores a few “What If…?” scenarios for a young Peter Parker. For example, what if Peter were mentored by Norman Osborn instead of Tony Stark?
Season 2 is set to premiere late 2026 and promises its own version of Marvel’s Civil War, and will reportedly introduce its own Gwen Stacy and Venom, the latter being teased from the very first episode.
Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man Season 2 will release late 2026.
Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi
TV series | Late 2026
Animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions wasn’t all bangers, but one episode that really stood out was The Ninth Jedi, in which the daughter of a legendary sabresmith is hunted by Sith acolytes.
It was so well-received that it got a follow-up episode, Child of Hope, in October 2025, and will spin-off into its own limited series sometime in 2026.
The Ninth Jedi will premiere on Disney Plus in late 2026.
VisionQuest
TV series | Late 2026
WandaVision was the first big Marvel Original to land on Disney Plus back in 2021. It marked a huge shift in small-screen MCU. Not only was it directly tied to the films, but the events that took place over its single season would go on to influence the wider MCU in a big way.
It left us with a few big questions, too, some of which were answered in 2024 with Agatha All Along. But one big mystery remains five years later: where is Vision?
At the end of WandaVision, Paul Bettany’s sentient AI was rebuilt and reanimated by S.W.O.R.D with the help of Wanda’s chaos magic. Sporting a new all-white look, the reborn Vision had lost his humanity and free will, but after a brief clash with Wanda, some memories began to return, causing him to flee in the series’ closing moments.
VisionQuest will pick up where we left the fancy new Vision at the end of WandaVision. In addition to Paul Bettany, James Spader is set to reprise his role as Ultron while, Todd Stashwick will debut as Paladin, a Boba Fett-like bounty hunter looking for Vision. Ruaridh Mollica will also star as Tommy Maximoff (aka Speed), the twin brother of Billy Maximoff who appeared in both Wandavision and Agatha All Along.
VisionQuest will premiere on Disney Plus in late 2026. Exact release details are to be confirmed.
Hoppers
Movie | In cinemas now
Hoppers is Pixar's latest flick, and it's currently showing in cinemas. Think of it kind of like a kid-friendly Avatar. When Mabel's hometown of Beaverton is threatened by urban development, she begins a campaign against the mayor that goes largely unheard. That is, until she discovers the Hoppers program, an experimental technology that transfers the human consciousness into a life-like robotic animal that can communicate with other wildlife. With the help of Beaverton's beavers and other forest critters, Mabel takes a stand, defending the forest glade and the wildlife that live there.
Hoppers features an all-star voice cast that includes Bobby Moynihan, Sam Richardson, Meryl Streep, Ego Nwodim, Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Aparna Nancherla.
Hoppers doesn't have a confirmed Disney Plus release date, but is likely to land sometime between June and July.
Watch trailerThe Mandalorian and Grogu
Movie | In cinemas May 21
Grogu (née Baby Yoda) became an overnight sensation when The Mandalorian kick-started Disney’s streaming service back in 2019. Over the years, Mando and Grogu have continued on in their own series and in others, like The Book of Boba Fett. Now in 2026, they’re heading to the big screen with The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Directed by Jon Favreau and co-written by Favreau and Star Wars custodian Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian and Grogu follows the duo across the galaxy as they’re recruited by the New Republic in its fight against the remaining Imperial warlords.
Pedro Pascal is returning for the role of Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) and will be joined by Sigourney Weaver in the role of Ward, a leader of the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers, and The Bear’s Jeremy Allen White, who will play Rotta the Hutt, son of the asphyxiated slime lord, Jabba the Hutt. Oh, and Marty Scorsese will also apparently voice a shopkeeper, presumably to suck up to Disney after declaring that Marvel movies weren’t real cinema.
The Mandalorian and Grogu does not have a confirmed release date for Disney Plus. Disney movies typically take about 90 days to reach streaming, so expect The Mandalorian and Grogu to land on streaming around August - September.
Toy Story 5
Movie | In cinemas June 18
Bonnie has a tablet. LilyPad, to be specific. And the toys are ready to teach LilyPad a lesson: she doesn't have a friend in them.
When LilyPad starts cutting into their playtime, they quickly realise technology is the beginning of the end for traditional toys. Recruiting their old pal, Woody, the gang embark on a mission to set things straight.
Feel transported back to your childhood with recognisable voices like Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Annie Potts as Bo Peep, John Ratzenberger as Hamm and Blake Clark as Slinky Dog, who are all returning for the journey.
Toy Story 5 releases in cinemas on June 18. It doesn't have a confirmed release date for Disney Plus but should arrive somewhere between September and October.

Watch trailerMoana (2026) live-action remake
Movie | In cinemas July 10
This year, the story of Moana is retold through a live-action lens, bringing the stunning tropical landscapes, national costumes, intricacies of wayfinding and the dangers of sailing to life in a more realistic setting.
Dwayne Johnson is reprising his signature role as Maui, shapeshifter, demigod of the wind and sea, hero of Men and Women, hero of all, but will be joined by a new cast and a new director, Thomas Kail (Hamilton, Grease Live!). But rest assured, the trailer promises all the songs, stories and magic you already love from the original.
Moana (2026) does not have a confirmed release date for Disney Plus but it should land on streaming around October - November.
