Netflix credit with Optus NBN and mobile
Optus NBN and post-paid mobile customers on its more expensive tiers will receive either a $10 or $20 credit per month through its subscription management portal, SubHub. There are a number of services available through SubHub, including Netflix.
By using the monthly credit, you can get either discounted access to Netflix Standard or Netflix Premium. The only catch is that you need to be signed up to your streaming service of choice through SubHub to be able to claim the credit.
Here are the Optus SIM Only mobile plans that currently offer either a $10 or $20 monthly credit through Optus SubHub, respectively:
And here's the only Optus NBN plan to offer a $10 monthly credit through Optus SubHub:
If instead you're after an Optus 5G internet plan, the Optus Promo Plan 5G also includes a $10 monthly credit through Optus SubHub, which customers can put towards a Netflix subscription:
Note: you can't add extra members outside your household if you're subscribing to Netflix via Optus.
For an idea of what Netflix currently costs, compare its plans below:
At the time of writing, no. Netflix is one of the few streaming services to not offer a free trial. However, below are several ways to either get free Netflix with ads or a discount on on ad-free plan.
Free Netflix Standard with Optus 5G internet
Optus 5G internet customers have one of the best ways to score a bonus Netflix subscription.
Simply, sign up to Optus' 5G uncapped speed plan to get a free Netflix Standard plan included, with a value of $20.99 per month. Just keep in mind, you will have to subscribe via Optus SubHub to redeem it.
Here's the Optus 5G plan you want to sign up to for both speed internet and free Standard Netflix:
Netflix bundling through Optus SubHub
Optus SubHub has a tidy way of bundling a range of subscription services, including Netflix, while also offering a discounted rate.
Simply bundle together two eligible subscriptions for 5% off or three or more for a maximum 10% off. For example, if you were to bundle Netflix Standard, Paramount Plus, and Amazon Prime Standard you would pay $35.97 per month, thanks to the 10% off discount. That's a saving of $4 per month.
With Optus SubHub you can bundle together Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount Plus, Kayo Sports, Binge, BritBox, Microsoft 365, YouTube Premium, Google One, GeForce NOW, Hayu, DAZN, Spacetalk and Kindle Unlimited. Many of these also offer with free trials to get you started.
Foxtel Bundles with Netflix Australia
Foxtel customers who subscribe to eligible Foxtel Bundles will get a Standard Netflix subscription (RRP $20.99) included plus a HBO Max Basic with Ads subscription (RRP $15.99 per month) in one tidy bill.
Simply choose from one of three Foxtel packages that include Netflix Standard bundled in to get started. We've outlined these packages, their inclusions and pricing below:
Across all three package options users can opt for a new iQ5 set-top box, the ability to stream on multiple screens, and access their subscription via the free Foxtel Go app. There are no set-up costs and Foxtel no longer requires a satellite to get connected; just a stable internet connection is needed. These packages are available to new customers only.
Now let's do the math: Netflix Standard is $20.99 per month and HBO Max Basic with Ads is $11.99 per month, which totals $32.98 per month. Below is a handy breakdown of how much you'll ultimately pay across each package for accessing just Foxtel by taking away the monthly costs of Netflix and HBO Max:
| Foxtel Platinum Plus (incl. Netflix) | Foxtel Sports & Netflix |
Foxtel Movies & Netflix |
|
|---|---|---|---|
| Package total price | $150 per month | $125 per month | $120 per month |
| Package discounted price* | $99 per month* | $86 per month* | $86 per month* |
| Foxtel cost / Package cost minus Netflix & HBO Max prices | $117.02 per month ($66.02 per month with discount) | $92.02 per month ($53.02 per month with discount) | $87.02 per month ($53.02 per month with discount) |
*Discount prices are correct as of August 8, 2026 and are subject to change.
Here are Foxtel's current plan prices, excluding Netflix:
Save on Netflix Australia with AGL electricity
When a new customer takes out an AGL electricity plan, they will receive a free Netflix Standard With Ads plan for the life of their electricity plan. This is a saving of $120 per year. Plus if you already have Netflix, you can simply link your account to receive the discount.
Don't want ads? AGL customers can also choose a discounted Netflix Standard plan for $11 per month instead of $20.99 per month or a discounted Premium plan for $19 per month instead of $28.99 per month. This carries a saving of $9.99 per month, regardless of which tier you choose.
