There's a question everyone has been asking for the past two years, and the Q10 appears to be the answer. Is BlackBerry back? With the famous hardware keyboard on the outside and a snazzy new touch-based system on the inside, it certainly seems so. It certainly looks the part. The Q10 is 100-percent a BlackBerry phone, the sort of handset you can easily recognise from across the room. At that distance, you'd be forgiven for mistaking the Q10 for a late-model Bold handset -- the Bold 9900 especially -- but on closer inspection there are quite a few nice differences to consider.
The Sony Xperia SP is the mid-range sidekick of the more heavily specced Xperia Z and ZR handsets. It delivers solid specs and a relatively smooth Android experience, albeit without many of the newer features boasted by the current generation of flagship devices.
Two years ago, when you bought your last phone, there's a good chance you thought about buying the Samsung Galalxy S II before spending your money on an iPhone. This may not be the case again this year. The South Korean manufacturing giant has been through an immense brand evolution in this short time, so much so that the Galaxy S4 is probably at the top of your new phone shopping list.
The Nokia Lumia 520 is a super-affordable smartphone from Nokia. Running on Windows Phone 8, it offers the smartphone experience to folks who are either unable or unwilling to spend large amounts of money on a new device, but who are still after a reliable smartphone experience.
So we’ve had the BlackBerry Z10 for a little a while now and we’ve got a much better idea of the device as a whole. If you’re unfamiliar with the Z10, it’s BlackBerry’s flagship device for the new BB10 operating system. The iconic smartphone manufacturer has ditched its aged, yet popular, mobile OS and started again from the ground up.
The HTC Windows Phone 8X is HTC’s current Windows Phone 8 flagship device that, while doing nothing to slow HTC’s growing reputation for questionable names, has seen its fair share of popularity in the WP market. Sporting thoroughly modern hardware, the elegant WP8 UI and stylish case design make for a blending of power and visual appeal that’s rarely seen in the handset market. But looks and specs aren’t everything, so we grabbed one ourselves to check it out in our own Windows Phone 8X review.
The HTC One SV is a mid-range 4G LTE smartphone that, despite it’s confusing name, really has nothing to do with the HTC One V. More accurately, it’s closer to being an upgraded version of the HTC One S. While it’s true that HTC we expect HTC to unveil some shiny new gadgetry on February 21st (three days hence), we still thought that we’d grab ourselves a One V and take it for a test run.
The Nokia Lumia 920 is Nokia’s first flagship device for the new Windows Phone 8 platform. Complete with Nokia’s increasingly iconic unibody polycarbonate design, ClearBlack HD display technology and the new PureView camera, the Lumia 920 has a good chance of being the best Windows Phone yet.
The Nokia Lumia 820 is one of the two debut smartphones for Nokia on the new Windows Phone 8 platform. Of the two, the Lumia 820 is the lower-end model and is aimed at the mid-range handset market. Despite playing second fiddle to Nokia’s current flagship, the Lumia 820 is still a surprisingly powerful and solid smartphone.
The HTC One V is a budget smartphone currently offered by HTC. It is currently the cheapest device from HTC’s One range of Android phones and is the spiritual successor to the HTC Hero and Legend smartphones. The One V borrows a lot of its aesthetic design from the HTC Legend and HTC Hero. It’s a fairly small device, coming in with just a 3.7 inch display and 9.2mm profile.
