Mates' rates: Earn up to $250 a year with Vodafone refer-a-friend

Here's something the whole group chat can get around. Vodafone has launched a new refer-a-friend program which could see you save up to $250 a year.

When existing Vodafone customers refer a friend to an eligible mobile, NBN, or home wireless plan they'll receive up to $50 credit. The referred friend will net up to $50 credit as well.

You can see which plan types are eligible and how much credit you'll each receive here:

Getting someone to sign up for a device on a plan will earn the biggest credit of $50 for each of you.

Each existing customer gets five referrals. Each of these referrals renews 12 months after your referred friend activates their service.

How do you refer a friend?

Referrals can be located within the My Vodafone app under a new Refer-A-Friend menu option. There you'll find your unique referral code that can be shared with friends and family. Once your friend has activated the service you'll both receive the credit at the time of your friend's third bill.

Each referral is automatically applied to your bill as a once-off education. If a friend has referred you you'll be able to refer friends of your own as soon as your service is active.

Vodafone research has found 30% of Australians are paying $70 or more per month on their phone bill and 54% are paying $70 or more per month for their internet. If you know someone who wants to switch providers to get a cheaper plan you could both benefit in the process.
