Vodafone will give all of its customers a bonus 2GB of data as an apology for an outage that occurred on Sunday night and lasted until Monday morning.
The telco is blaming the outage on a router malfunction that caused 4G services to become unavailable. Customers were switched over to 3G or 2G networks as a result, however, congestion meant some were unable to access services. Vodafone says the majority of customers were back online by 1:35am on Monday, but some were without service until 11:30am.
While not all customers were affected by the outage, Vodafone every subscriber will nonetheless be eligible for the extra data.
Postpaid customers will receive the additional 2GB during either their October or November billing cycle. Prepaid customers will receive the additional 2GB when they recharge after a date (yet to be confirmed in) in October. Customers will be notified when the 2GB is added to their account.
