UE Boom speakers have long been a feast for the ears, but manufacturer Ultimate Ears will also feed the masses with a free pizza promo spruiking its new party-centric software update.
Ultimate Ears has rolled out a new software update that lets users to wirelessly connect over 50 speakers for simultaneously playback. Dubbed PartyUp, the software update is compatible with the original UE Boom, UE Boom 2, and UE Boom Megaboom speakers.
Ultimate Ears Asia Pacific Regional Category Manager for Music John Paterson told WhistleOut that the company has yet to find an upper limit as to how many speakers can be paired simultaneously. At a local launch highlighting the new feature, Ultimate Ears had a roof-mounted array of over 100 speakers.
Each UE speaker has to be within a 30 metre radius of the "master" Boom. As such, you're not able to daisy chain them to make a 1.5km wall of noise.
PartyUp is a new feature in the UE Boom app for both iOS and Android.
UE is also trying to make buy another Boom or two (presumably, so you can test out PartyUp for yourself) a little more tempting with a free pizza and music offer. Anyone who buys a new UE Boom 2 or UE Megaboom will be able to redeem two free pizzas through Dominos and two albums worth of music through Universal.
All retailers that stock UE products will be participating in the promotion, including JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Apple, Myer, Officeworks, and The Good Guys.
UE has yet to confirm a firm commencement date, but the promotion will start later this month and run until January.
