Optus $30 SIM Starter Kit deal

Ready to get started on Optus prepaid? Make the jump in the next two days, and you can pick up a $30 SIM Starter Kit for just $5.

The $5 offer is available to all SIM-only customers buying a $30 kit between now and November 18. The 3-in-1 SIM pack can be activated on Optus' Ultimate Plus, Daily Plus, or Long Expiry prepaid options, but offers the most value on an Ultimate Plus plan.

Ultimate Plus = ultimate value

Activate your SIM on Prepaid Ultimate Plus' $30 option and you'll get unlimited standard Australian talk and text, plus 10GB of data on your first recharge: a regular 3GB, plus 7GB of bonus data. You'll get your bonus 7GB if you recharge by February 2, but customers should be aware that subsequent recharges will revert to the standard 3GB inclusion.

However, all Ultimate Plus plans now include data rollover, so any unused gigabytes can be rolled over to your following recharge (provided you top up your plan before the 28-day expiry date). You can roll over up to 10GB of data to the following recharge, but any rolled-over gigabytes can only be kept or used for one additional recharge period.

Optus' $30 Ultimate Plus plan also includes unlimited data-free music streaming from Spotify, Google Play Music, and iHeartRadio, plus $5 of extras credit for international calls and roaming. And if you activate your SIM before April 29, you'll also get 10GB of monthly video streaming from Netflix, Stan, iView, ABC Kids and ABC ME.

Daily Plus and Long Expiry

You can also activate your SIM Starter Kit on Optus' Daily Plus or Long Expiry prepaid plans. Daily Plus plans are priced at $2 for each day you use your plan inclusions; your daily allowance includes unlimited national talk and text, 500MB of data, plus unlimited music streaming as outlined above. All Daily Plus credit lasts for 21 days.

Long Expiry plans feature $30 of MyCredit, although customers can roll over up to $500 of unused plan credit when recharging before the 186-day expiry period. Talk is charged at $0.20 per minute to standard Australian numbers, with data at $0.05 per megabyte, and SMS and MMS both priced at $0.20 per message sent.

You can grab an on-special $5 SIM Starter Kit now from Optus' web store. For more info on Optus prepaid plans and deals, start comparing below.
